The Waco Incident

27 years ago today the ATF attempted and unconstitutional raid on a religious compound in Waco Texas. The reason for the raid, enforcing Ronald Reagan’s unconstitutional assault weapon ban, part of the firearms owners protection act. With bans all fully automatic firearms. This unconstitutional law was the only law the ATF had evidence for at the time the warrant was signed. The ATF surround and moved in on the building despite warning from there undercover agent who still had not found the evidence he was looking for.
Seeing the agents approach David Koresh the cults founder stepped out of the building unarmed to try and resolve the situation. As this was happening one of the federal agents shot the cults dogs with resulted in a hail of gunfire from both the cult members and the federal agents. Who also shot the unarmed Koresh. The fallowing gunfight lasted about an hour before the federal agents withdrawal. The case was headed over to the FBI who would latter burn the building to the ground killing all 120 occupants including 25 children.
To this day both agencies claim to be justified including the FBI with still claims the cultists started the fire themselves. This was not the first or last time historically that the agencies use of teargas with is a known flammable substance resulted in fires killing the suspects without trial. It’s worth noting that the use of teargas is band from use in war by the Geneva convention but it’s still used on civilians by law enforcement in the United States.
