As a libertarian I try to attack both sides and I feel that gives me the ability to more effectively exam both sides without as much biased.
But in this series of statements I’m probably going to sound very pro trump in this next series of statements I assure you I am not.
One of the biggest issues with trump that I think most resulted in his close loss was LGBTQ Rights. I saw a large number of my Lgbtq friends were horrified of losing their rights if Donald Trump had stayed in office. I did my best to comfort and reassure them that at least as far as marriage rights we’re concerned they had little to fear as supreme Court decisions are extraordinarily difficult to overturn. As well as despite what the media on both sides what have you believe Donald Trump ran on a pro gay marriage platform for both elections. In fact he was the first president in American history to run on a pro gay marriage platform. That’s right, Obama ran on and maintained an anti-gay marriage stance throughout his presidency.
I bring this up again now because of the recent controversy surrounding Caitlyn Jenner’s bid for governor of California. For those of you who don’t know, She is running as a republican. One of if not the most recognizable figure in the trans community has chosen to run as a pro trump, pro gun, anti-relation, anti-minimum wage, anti-affordable housing act, anti-tax increase Republican. If she won her policies could if not met with too much opposition, turn California around from the economic disaster that it has become. The state of California has been the perfect economic experiment for socialist policies in the United States. One look at the state of California and anyone with eyes will clearly see that the policies enacted by the left in California over the last 30 years have not been to help the poor, minorities, LGBTQ etc, but to enslave them. To keep them uneducated and out of work. So that they continue to vote for the same policies that put them in this position to begin with. The perfect example of when you allow racist homophobic bigots to trick you into thinking they’re your friend.
Jenner’s run for governor is a glaring hole in there hierarchy, it would seek to show the glaring consistency, and hypocrisy in the lifts policies, And could potentially be a very big win for republic and the state of California.
Unfortunately Republicans seem decided, as if half of then seek to prove the lifts perception of them to be true. A intelligent candidate with the ability to be everything the republicans need right now and a large percentage of republicans refuse to support because there homophobic. Just like the left wants them to be. The republican party has a massive opportunity to pull independent voters to there side and instead squander the opportunity at best and move voter’s in the opposite direction at worst.
If your a republican I highly encourage you to think about why it’s so easy for the left to pin you as the bad guy and consider supporting a solid Republican candidate in what could be the most important election in California’s history.
